At Rochester Meat Company, we are passionate about supplying the industry's finest meat products and unbeatable service, always exceeding our customers' expectations. For over 30 years, we have provided premium, consistent ground beef items, portion-cut steaks, and pork products to the foodservice industry nationwide.
At Rochester Meat Company, Customer Service is not just a department; it's a philosophy. Our goal is to deliver satisfaction with every customer contact. In fact, in our surveys, customers praise us for our flexibility and ability to listen and respond to their needs, such as:
- Educating them on nutritional information, product specifications, food preparation, cooking, and menu ideas.
- Maintaining a fully equipped test kitchen, to assist in testing new and proprietary products.
- Responding to concerns within 24 hours and working directly with end users to resolve issues — helping to maintain trust and credibility.
We have some of the most stringent quality and food safety standards in the industry, with each product going through a minimum of 30 checkpoints before it leaves our facility. In addition:
- We insist that our vendors provide us with only the finest raw materials and always meet our quality requirements, including testing for E. coli 0157:H7.
- We have implemented rigorous operating procedures that exceed USDA requirements.
- Our in-line metal detectors and bone elimination systems add to the safety effort.
- Ground products are routinely tested for fat content, to ensure accurate formulation.
- We are audited annually for food safety and sanitation by 3rd-party companies (ASI, AIB). Our last audit placed us in the "Excellent" category.
- We can quickly track finished product to its destination.
As the final food safety checkpoint, we always recommend that ground beef be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F.
Our employees are our greatest asset! Therefore, we are constantly striving to provide a safe work environment. In addition to our ongoing, proactive safety training program:
- Occupational health nurses are available to assist employees.
- We have two employee safety committees that routinely audit our facilities and practices.
- We are the first meat processing company in Minnesota to receive Minnesota OSHA SHARP status (Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program).
- We are audited annually to maintain our MN SHARP status. The Minnesota Safety Council, OSHA consultants, and insurance companies have also audited our facilities and programs.
